Demonstrating exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship, these players will represent their school and region on a premier statewide stage. The selected athletes have each brought unique strengths to the pitch to earn their spot among the region's elite:
Jesus Montiel (Team Captain): A natural leader and the heartbeat of the squad, Montiel’s work ethic and tactical intelligence earned him the distinct honor of being named a team captain for the East roster.
Leonel Sanchez: Known for his incredible vision and technical ability, Sanchez consistently delivers high-impact plays and serves as a vital spark for the team's transition game.
Jafet Bailon: A relentless competitor, Bailon brings powerhouse energy and defensive grit, consistently shutting down opposition attacks and winning crucial battles.
Anthony Wallace: Blending explosive pace with clinical decision-making, Wallace is a constant threat on the pitch who keeps opposing backlines under immense pressure.
Juan Gomez: A highly versatile and reliable playmaker, Gomez’s sharp positioning and consistency make him an invaluable asset in shifting the momentum of any match.
"Having five players make the Body Armor State team speaks volumes about the talent, hard work, and chemistry of the Hiede Trask Soccer Program," said Coach Dusty Causey. "Seeing Jesus recognized as a captain is a testament to his character, and every single one of these young men has earned this honor through absolute dedication. They are going to represent Heide Trask exceptionally well on this stage."
The Body Armor State Games feature the top high school talent from across the state, providing players with elite competition and valuable exposure to collegiate scouts.

Good Evening, HTHS Families!
As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we are looking forward to strengthening our partnership with our families and community. One way we can do this is through our Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
The PAC provides an opportunity for parents and school leaders to work together by offering advice, counsel, and support on matters that impact the general welfare and success of our school. Most importantly, we want to hear your ideas, perspectives, and experiences as we work together to make Heide Trask High School the very best it can be for our students.
If you are interested in serving on our PAC, we would love to hear from you! Please email Mr. Allen at brian_allen@pender.k12.nc.us to express your interest.
We will welcome the first three parents/guardians who express interest to serve on the council.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of HTHS. We believe our school is stronger when families have a voice, and we look forward to working alongside you!

Subject: Required Student Safety Video – State Mandate
Dear TitanTown Families and Staff,
As required by Session Law 2023-128 (Protecting Our Students Act), all North Carolina public school units must provide students in grades 6–12 with specific information related to child abuse and neglect within the first five days of school.
This law mandates the delivery of age-appropriate materials—including a video—developed by the Center for Safer Schools (CFSS). These materials aim to educate students on:
Recognizing signs of abuse and neglect (including sexual abuse),
Knowing how and where to report concerns, and
Understanding that reporting is confidential, as permitted by law.
Pender County Schools will show the required videos at the beginning of the school year, as mandated. Additional resources such as posters and student documents will also be distributed and displayed in accordance with the law.
To learn more about the requirements or preview the materials, you can visit - https://bit.ly/3HbOqAq
To opt your student out of viewing the videos, Pender County Schools asks that you sign and return this letter . In an effort to reach everyone, the letter will also be sent home on the first day of school, and should be returned NO LATER than Thursday, August 27th. Only one letter needs to be signed and returned.
We encourage you to view the videos in an effort to make an informed decision:
We appreciate your support in helping us ensure all students feel informed, supported, and safe as they begin the new school year.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brian Allen
Principal, Heide Trask High School
