Game faces on! 🏐✨ Our Unified PE class hit the gym yesterday afternoon to show off their volleyball skills, teamwork, and big smiles. Today, they'll participate in the 2026 buddy walk! Inclusive play, confident athletes, and lots of high-fives—this is what community looks like.
Guess what happened when Mr. Mitchell's Horticulture 2 class visited NHC Arboretum? After creating flower models earlier this week, students got to see the real thing in person today! 🌼🌿 It was a beautiful chance to connect hands-on learning with the living examples.

As a culminating activity for their unit on Life in Colonial America, Mrs. Graham’s Extended American History class made their own butter by shaking heavy cream in jars! Students learned that butter didn’t always come from the grocery store and experienced firsthand how much work went into everyday life during colonial times.
🎓Senior Night was a blast! ✨ A College for North Carolina rep walked families through FAFSA and financial aid, and Herff Jones showed attendees how to order caps, gowns, and Class of 2027 gear. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and their next steps!

Mr. Rudisin’s Economics & Personal Finance students started their week off by digging into the college dilemma — students argued for and against the need to attend college by using articles, class readings, Edpuzzles, videos, and even personal examples to support their views. Whether students are headed to university, the workforce, or the military, HTHS prepares them for success. What a proud moment for our school community!

Have you ever seen encouragement in action? Today students met with MSG (ret.) Steven Caldwell — and also SSG Dunning, Ms. Daniels, Ms. Howell, and Mr. Williams — for a special ASVAB interpretation meeting. Attendees received personalized feedback, cheered each other on, and expressed a strong commitment to improving scores and serving our country.

💧 WATER UPDATE: The boil water advisory has been lifted for the schools affected by the water line break on Highway 421. Schools will continue operating on their regular schedules. Thank you to our families and staff for your patience, and to the crews who worked to restore water service.
