Mr Odom applied for and received one of 25 grants given out nationwide to allow a team of our students to compete in the American Rocketry Challenge! The American Rocketry Challenge is the world’s largest rocket contest with nearly 5,000 students nationwide competing each year. The contest gives middle and high school students the opportunity to design, build, and launch model rockets. The hands-on experience reinforces engineering concepts. If our team's rocket qualifies, they will get the opportunity to travel to Virginia for National Launch Day where they could win up to $20,000 out of the $100,000 in prizes awarded each year. With 24 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Bove has committed herself to making a meaningful impact in the lives of her students. She loves teaching social studies because it gives her the opportunity to show students why history often repeats itself, helping them learn valuable lessons from the past. 📚 One of her most rewarding moments in the classroom is when a student exclaims, "I get it!" This moment of understanding is what drives her passion for teaching. 😊 Outside the classroom, Mrs. Bove enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf, being outdoors, reading, and traveling. Her dream destination is Italy—a place she hopes to visit someday. 🌍 Mrs. Bove’s personal motto is, "Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves," a philosophy that she brings to her teaching every day. ☀️ Her dedication and enthusiasm make her a cherished member of the Cape Fear Middle School community.

📚🍟 Fries for School Supplies is Back! 🍟📚
We are excited to announce that for the second year in a row, our local McDonald’s owner-operators are hosting the Fries for School Supplies fundraiser in our school district!
Last year, over $110,000 was raised for our area schools, and we’re aiming to do even more this year! 🎉
From August 26th to 30th, McDonald’s will donate 10% of sales from all a la carte Fries to help support our schools. It’s a delicious way to contribute to our community! 🙌

Cape Fear Community College is offering free haircuts this Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Barber School located at 108 Walnut St.
No appointments needed—just walk in! All haircuts will be supervised by a licensed instructor and are first-come, first-served. Remember, students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Get ready for the new school year with a fresh look!

This is an announcement for all students interested in trying out for softball, football(7th and 8th graders only) and cheerleading. Parents, we are having an athletic interest meeting this Thursday, August 15th, at 5:30pm in the CFMS media center. We want to help you with the transition to Big Teams Student Central for physical forms and all the necessary paperwork to compete in athletics. Hard copies from physicals last year and also ones from the free physical clinic at Trask will be there to collect so you can have them to complete the Big Teams Student Central process. All students/parents will need to complete this process before trying out for a team. Due to severe weather, all PCS facilities will close and after-school events are canceled starting at 4 PM today, August 6. This includes schools and admin buildings. Penderlea and Pender Early College students will dismiss on time. Emergency staff will be contacted if needed.
Our 6th grade Summer Bridge was a huge success today. Shout out to our students and staff spending the day together. Our students progressed through a typical school day and had a great time with the Olympic themed event. #HOMEoftheGrizzlies #OnePender
