Happy Flashback Friday! The Fine Arts enable us to have experiences we can have from no other source and through those experiences we discover the range of variety of what we are capable of feeling. Ms. Sutton's 2nd grade class learned about some North Carolina history and added it to a song. Check out her class singing the 12 Days of Christmas, North Carolina Edition. https://youtu.be/JFcvM08YDOI #WeLoveMsSutton

4th grade artists are learning about Harlem Renaissance artist Romare Bearden. They are creating Jazz collages. They painted using color schemes and then drew and glued images of Jazz instruments on top. Next, they will be adding music notes and collaging shapes with magazines. The Arts teach children that problems can have more than one solution, and that questions can have more than one right answer.

Look at some of our cubs in music class. A kindergarten class is learning rhythms on the boomwhackers! This fifth grade class even learned about music around the world with a streamer dance. The fine arts are an essential part of everyone's education. Be on the lookout for more posts about Fine Arts Month!

Preschool is kicking off the week of read across America with an author study on Dr. Seuss. Today’s book was 10 apples up on top. After reading the book the children were tasked with doing a stem activity. Check out students trying to figure out who can make the tallest tower using the materials mentioned in the book.
