BURGAW, NC– During the December 13, 2022 Board of Education meeting elected officials were officially sworn into office and officers were elected.
Beth Burns (District 2), Ken Smith (District 4), and Brent Springer (District 1) were each sworn into office by Judge Richard Harrell. Mr. Springer takes the seat vacated by Cindy Fontana who did not seek re-election. Terms for the the newly elected members will run through 2026. Board members Brad George and Don Hall will see their terms end in 2024.
Once members were sworn in, Ken Smith was elected as Board Chair, Don Hall was elected as Vice-Chair.
