BURGAW, NC - According to the NC DOT, an accident has closed a portion of Highway 117 between Ashton Road and New Road. As of this writing the DOT is estimating the closure to last to 5:20pm.
Due to the accident the following adjustments have been made to the Friday afternoon bus schedule.
CF Pope/Burgaw Middle
Bus 265 ( Stop north of Pike Creek church and New Rd.) Tasha Lane and Croom Lane Stops) Parents need to meet the bus at New Road and Hwy 117 intersection.
Bus 305 (Stops south of Pike Creek church and Ashton Rd.) Meadow Lane Stops. Parents need to meet the bus at Old River Rd and Hwy 117 intersection.
Pender High School
Bus 213 ( Stop north of Pike Creek church and New Rd.) Tasha Lane and Croom Lane Stops) Parents need to meet the bus at New Road and Hwy 117 intersection.
Bus 213 (Stops south of Pike Creek church and Ashton Rd.) Meadow Lane Stops. Parents need to meet the bus at Old River Rd and Hwy 117 intersection.
Cape Fear Middle
Bus 245/247 ( Stop north of Pike Creek church and New Rd.) Tasha Lane and Croom Lane Stops) Parents need to meet the bus at New Road and Hwy 117 intersection.
Buses traveling through 117 will detour Old River Rd to New Road. Law enforcement will stage at the intersections to offer support.
