BURGAW, NC – During a special meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2022 the Pender County Board of Education unanimously approved a contract with AdvantaClean to begin HVAC and duct cleaning at Topsail Middle School.
The total amount of the approved contract for AdvantaClean was $86,259.
The current schedule of remediation by ServPro and AdvantaClean is as follows:

AdvantaClean will deploy resources after the conclusion of the school day to begin duct cleaning activities Saturday morning.
Saturday, October 22, 2022
HVAC and duct cleaning of the 600 building will begin and will continue weekday evenings (without students, staff present). It’s expected this cleaning will continue until at least Thursday, October 27, 2022. Once completed, cleaning of the 700 building will begin followed by cleaning of the 800 building. The duration is expected to be similar for each building.

Pender County Schools Maintenance staff will demo and repair the exterior walls of rooms 703, 707, and 709.
ServPro will set up a containment wall inside of Room 707 and 709. Remediation inside of Room 707 and 709 will then begin. Students from Room 707 and 709 will relocate to Hut 11 and Hut 20 until work is completed – it’s estimated the work will take up to a week to complete.
