BURGAW, NC - The Pender County Board of Education, in alignment with a recent CDC announcement, voted unanimously to remove the mask mandate for people on buses or vans operated by public school systems.
The move goes into effect immediately.
On February 25, 2022 the CDC made the change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level.
As a district Pender County Schools moved to mask-optional in all buildings after a unanimous vote by the Board of Education during the October 2021 meeting and has remained mask-optional.
