The Pender County Board of Education voted unanimously Wednesday to approve Bordeaux Construction and Moseley as the team for the Topsail Middle School design project during a special Board of Education meeting.
Board member Beth Burns made the motion to award the project to Bordeaux Construction and Moseley, citing the team’s current work with Pender County Schools and the strong working relationship already established through ongoing district projects. Board member Tom Reeves seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
The selection marks an important step forward for the Topsail Middle School project as Pender County Schools continues planning for long-term facility needs in one of the district’s fastest-growing areas.
Bordeaux Construction and Moseley are currently leading the J.H. Lea school builds, giving the team direct experience with Pender County Schools’ expectations, processes, and community priorities. During the meeting, board members noted the significance of the decision and acknowledged the quality of the presentations and qualifications from the firms considered.
The Topsail Middle School design project is part of the district’s continued focus on addressing growth, improving learning environments, and planning responsibly for future school facility needs.
