BURGAW, N.C. — Pender County Schools is proud to celebrate School Library Month in April and recognize the important work of school library media coordinators across the district. School Library Month is a national observance led by the American Association of School Librarians to celebrate school libraries and the vital role they play in student learning.

In Pender County Schools, this celebration also highlights the district’s school library media centers and the media coordinators who lead them. Across the district, media coordinators help create welcoming spaces where students read, explore new interests, build research skills, and grow as learners.

School library media centers support literacy, inquiry, digital learning, and access to resources that strengthen classroom instruction and help students develop as thoughtful readers and responsible users of information. This districtwide celebration reflects the important role media centers and media coordinators play in supporting students, staff, and schools.

Pender County Schools is grateful for the district’s media coordinators for the work they do each day. During School Library Month, PCS encourages students, staff, families, and the community to join in recognizing the people and programs that help school library media centers remain vibrant spaces for learning, discovery, and connection.
