SURF CITY, NC - Surf City Middle School band director Trevor Judy has been selected to march with Saluting America’s Band Directors (SABD), a national project that recognizes the work of music educators across the country.
SABD was created to highlight the dedication of band directors in public and private schools, colleges, universities, and community programs. Its marching ensemble, the Band Directors Marching Band, has taken part in several major national events, including the 2022 Rose Parade in Pasadena and the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
This recognition reflects not only Mr. Judy’s musical skill, but also his steady support for students. He brings patience and clear expectations to his work with the band and encourages students to grow as musicians and as people.
The SABD ensemble brings together directors from many different backgrounds. More than 300 band directors marched in the 2026 Rose Parade, which was the second time an all-director group participated in the event.
Pender County Schools and Surf City Middle School congratulate Mr. Judy on this opportunity. His involvement is a positive reflection of the music programs in our schools and the community that supports them. We look forward to seeing him represent Surf City and PCS on a national stage.
