Pender County Schools is excited to announce the extension of our Summer Meals Program, which will now continue through August 13, 2025 — offering two more weeks of free meals for children across the county.
Since the program launched in mid-June, PCS has provided more than 20,000 breakfasts and lunches to children 18 and under. Every Wednesday, families have been able to pick up a full week’s worth of meals at multiple distribution sites — a vital resource for many over the summer break.
This extension means even more families can benefit from healthy, consistent meals before the new school year begins.
“We know summer can be a challenging time for many families, especially when it comes to keeping children fed,” said Dr. Brad Breedlove, PCS Superintendent. “Extending this program helps us continue our mission of supporting every student — even when school isn’t in session.”
Pickup locations and times remain the same. No registration or ID is required to participate.
