PENDER COUNTY, N.C. — A water main break has disrupted water services at Malpass Corner Elementary and Pender High School in Pender County. The school district is taking immediate action to address the situation.

In response to the incident, alternative arrangements for drinking water and sanitary purposes are being provided by the school district. Ensuring the well-being and comfort of students remains the top priority, with efforts underway to minimize disruptions to their daily routines.

Pender County Schools will remain in contact with local officials working to resolve the break. We appreciate the understanding, patience, and support of the community as we work to address the situation.

UPDATE - According to Pender County Utilities the break was repaired at approximately one o'clock Tuesday morning. Malpass Corner Elementary was isolated and therefore bottled water will not be needed at the school. Bottled water was delivered to Pender High as scheduled.
