PENDER COUNTY, NC - Pender County Schools has received recognition from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for its commitment to supporting military families. The district has been lauded as a military-friendly educational institution for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The commendation, given to the district by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, recognizes Pender County Schools for its exceptional efforts in fostering an inclusive environment for military-connected students and their families. All schools within the district have successfully met the stringent criteria outlined for the Purple Star Award Designation.
