ROCKY POINT, NC – Wednesday morning Pender County Schools was notified that a gas line near the entrance/exit to Heide Trask High School had been ruptured.
Piedmont Natural Gas is currently on-site conducting repairs, the gas has been shut off to the pipe. All entrances to the school are open. Traffic may only exit to the right towards the EMS station. There is no estimated time on the completion of the repair.
Due to the distance from the school, students and staff are not in danger. As a result of the break, Heide Trask High School will serve a cold lunch option.
