Recently, an error occurred when Pender County Schools attempted to send charge letters to students with negative balances of -$5.00 or more. Due to an unexpected glitch with our vendor, some of our families received positive balance due letters instead. We understand that this may have caused confusion and inconvenience, and for that, we sincerely apologize.
We understand that keeping track of student meal accounts is an important aspect of your child's education, and we strive to ensure that the communication regarding these accounts is as accurate and efficient as possible.
To prevent such situations in the future, we are taking steps to improve our processes. From this point forward, we will email notifications for all negative balances, regardless of the amount. This adjustment will ensure that you receive timely and accurate information about your child's meal account, even for relatively small negative balances.
