Dedication, passion, and a commitment to nurturing young minds are the hallmarks of outstanding educators. At Pender County Schools, we believe in celebrating these remarkable individuals who contribute to the betterment of our educational community. The Beginning Teacher Coach Team is proud to acknowledge the exceptional efforts and accomplishments for the month of October.

Beginning Teacher of the Month: Sarah Colla of South Topsail Elementary
Mentor Teacher of the Month: Amy Simpson of Malpass Corner Elementary
Site Coordinator of the Month: Sydney Bolyard of Cape Fear Elementary

These educators have shown an unwavering commitment to their profession, their students, and our community. Their dedication and outstanding work not only shape the future but also inspire others in our educational network.

In our ongoing pursuit of excellence, we prioritize professional development to empower our educators further. On October 19th, our UNCW Professional Development Specialist, Jenn Hatch Knight, led a transformative session for 40 PCS Beginning Teachers. The session delved into Classroom Management and Student Engagement Strategies, emphasizing the "5 Rs" of management: Relationships, Room, Relevance, Routines, and Reinforcement. Educators also explored dynamic strategies from the Kagan Cooperative Learning methodology.

This engaging and enriching experience underscores our commitment to providing our educators with the resources and support they need to create dynamic, engaging learning environments for our students.
