Pender County Schools is teaming up with Cape Fear Navigating Change to help spread the word about their survey. This survey is all about Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050, which is a big plan for how residents handle transportation in our region over the next 25 years. The plan looks at things like airplanes, bikes and walking paths, ferries, trains, buses, and roads to make sure they meet our community's needs.
But what's a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP)? It's basically a plan made by groups called Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to figure out what our area needs for transportation.
If a project is in this plan, it's considered important for the region and might get funding. That's a big step toward actually building it. They hope to finalize the plan in November 2025.
