ROCKY POINT, NC - Pender County Schools is proud to announce Rocky Point Elementary EC Teacher Rebecca Barras has been selected as Pender County’s representative for the upcoming 2023 Annual Conference on Exceptional Children, hosted by the NC Department of Public Instruction.

“Rebecca's commitment to our students and her innovative teaching methods have made a significant impact on our school community,” said Rocky Point Elementary Principal April Perkins. “Her recognition as a leader within our school system is well-deserved and reflects the dedication and passion she brings to her role as a special educator.”

Ms. Barras exemplifies the qualities of leadership and dedication that define a remarkable special educator. Her consistent commitment to improving the quality of education for exceptional children within our school system has earned her this well-deserved honor. Her passion for her students and her unwavering efforts to ensure their success have had a significant impact on the Rocky Point Elementary school community.

The 2023 Annual Conference on Exceptional Children is scheduled for October 23 to 24, 2023, at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. This event brings together educators, administrators, service providers, community partners, and families who share a common commitment to exceptional education.
