Rocky Point Elementary Teacher Jessica Barnette is fresh off a walk on the red carpet. Ms. Barnette and other Milken Educators of the Year came together in Los Angeles, California to discuss how to increase their impact on K-12 education.
Ms. Barnette was first notified of her Milken Educator of the Year award in front of students, faculty and staff at Rocky Point Elementary School in mid-December 2022. As a recipient she won $25,000 and is now a member of the Milken Educators family.
Recently she spoke with The Milken Family Foundation about the experience and what teaching means to her.
