Dear Families and Community Members,

Our middle school thrives because of the support we receive from our families and community. We are reaching out to invite volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks that help enrich our students’ learning environment and support our staff. Volunteer opportunities may include helping with school events, assisting teachers and staff, supporting extracurricular activities, organizing materials, or monitoring PA/lunch. . Whether you have a little time to give or can help on a regular basis, your involvement will make a meaningful difference for our students and contribute to a positive and welcoming school culture.

We’re proud to recognize our student-athletes who were honored with the Pender County Schools Winter Sports Sportsmanship Award! These individuals have demonstrated outstanding character, teamwork, and respect both on and off the field. Their positive attitudes and commitment to fair play represent the true spirit of Topsail Middle School.

TMS SPORTS: Our next athletic seasons are right around the corner. Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer will start on January 6th and Cheerleading will start on January 12th. Please make sure all necessary requirements are met in order to try out.

EE science recently studied plate tectonics by making models of convergent, divergent and transform boundaries using graham crackers and cool whip. Thank you to all the parents who donated these supplies for our students.

TMS 5th graders finished the DARE program this week! From learning about safety to practicing good decision-making, these students showed courage and responsibility every step of the way.

Last week Topsail Middle School welcomed DA Jason Smith, who spoke to all our students — thank you for sharing your insights and time!

Huge congratulations to our boys basketball team— they won the conference tournament and secured the conference title last night! What an incredible display of hard work, teamwork, and heart. 🏆

Enjoying a great TMS band concert at the Topsail high auditorium! They sound great!

Our 6th grade scientists modeled energy transfer in waves with hands-on activities and simple simulations. They loved testing different wave types and seeing the effects.

What a day with author, Dusti Bowling! Students loved Q&A, writing workshops, and lunch with our JV & Varsity Battle of the Books teams. Huge thanks to Grassroots Grants and our book fair supporters for making this unforgettable visit possible!

Students at TMS are looking forward to the author visit tomorrow with Dusti Bowling! Don't forget to bring your personal copies of her book if you want it signed by the author!
