🎨🏆 Congratulations to Esme Burnau! 🏆🎨 Join us in celebrating Sophomore Esme Burnau for earning a Silver Key and Honorable Mention in the Eastern North Carolina Region Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her stunning acrylic paintings! 🌟 Esme's exceptional talent shines through in her pieces: "Roots" 🖌️ This painting reflects the profound impact of family on one’s being. It features a family tree surrounded by ancestral portraits, with roots extending into the Earth, symbolizing the connection to an unborn infant. "Spectacle" 🖌️ Addressing the social issue of harassment, this powerful work portrays a woman walking on a stage, controlled by an external hand while being jeered at by an audience of men, reflecting the helplessness often experienced in such situations. Esme is THS's only winner this year, a testament to her incredible creativity and hard work in a highly competitive field. Her award-winning art will be on display at East Carolina University alongside other regional winners next month. 👏 Let’s give Esme a big round of applause for her achievements and for representing THS so beautifully! 👏

MEC Wrestling and Swimming Championships Cancelled for Saturday 1.25.25 Due to the impacts of our inclement weather on school and our athletics schedules for our MEC member school systems for the rest of this week and weekend, and on the timing of our upcoming NCHSAA state playoffs reporting deadlines (Swimming - 1.25.25, and Wrestling 1.29.25), we have officially CANCELLED the following events for Saturday, 1.25.25: -MEC Wrestling Conference Championships -MEC Swimming Conference Championships Our MEC Athletic Directors are working closely with our County Athletic Directors, and Principals to reschedule other winter sports events from this week that may be impacted by the inclement weather. Once these rescheduled dates are confirmed, we will share this information at that time. Please stay safe and enjoy the snow with your families. Go Pirates!

Topsail High School Athletics Department is proud to announce the hiring of a new Women’s Wrestling Coach - Coach Megan Roberts. Coach Roberts brings over twenty (20) years of experience as a coach and leader to our program. Her coaching philosophy centers on developing leadership qualities in our student-athletes. Coach Roberts is known for her unwavering work ethic, passion, and enthusiasm. She is dedicated to seeing her student-athletes achieve their potential both on and off the mat. Outside of Coaching, Coach Roberts enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, fishing, hunting, and being on the water.
