Congratulations are in order for Mrs. Miranda Wells as last night Mr. Bates announced she has been selected as the Pender County Schools CTE NCCAT Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Wells is a health science teacher, CTE department chair, HOSA advisor, mentor to CTE teachers around the county and a board member for the Spot Festival. She works tirelessly for our students and we are so proud she is a pirate.

Bus drivers were shown some love this morning with gifts from Renovation church and our PTSO!

Please see the attached letter regarding ACT testing that will take place at school and is required for all junior students. This test will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 27th with your child's homeroom teacher. Students will be communicated testing locations within THS next week during homeroom.

Topsail High School student clubs and PTSO came together to spoil our bus drivers today. Donuts and goody bags were handed out to show some love on this rainy day. Our drivers also received a special invitation to breakfast on Friday that will be prepared by THS staff. Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Week!

Shout out to our THS Band Program!! It was another successful and busy weekend for the pirates. Winterguard-- Congratulations to the THS Winterguard on a great first competition run this weekend at Cleveland High School! They were 4th out of 14 in their class missing 3rd by .8 points! District Honor Band--Congratulations to the record 16 Topsail High School band students who participated in the NCBA Eastern District Honor Band Clinic at ECU This weekend!

February is National CTE Month! Today we would like to recognize CTE student Jill Lombardo. A few weeks ago, Jill was in her brother’s car when it caught fire. She used the training she received in her public safety class to quickly extinguish the car. Fire Marshall Amy Burton was impressed with her quick response. Jill and her teacher Mr. Bailey were recently recognized by Pender County Board of Education during the January board meeting.
