It was another busy weekend for the band program!
Concert Band
The THS Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble earned a superior performance at the NCBA Music Performance Adjudication on Friday at Havelock High School. Superior is the highest rating possible for a concert band, and this is the first time in school history both bands have achieved this rating at the same time.
Winterguard
Congratulations to Winterguard on their 4th competition run this past weekend at Middle Creek HS in Raleigh. We will host our community showcase this coming Friday at 7pm in the HS main gym as we cheer them onto Championships this coming weekend in Fayetteville!
Congrats to Jack MacDonald, Zachary Morrissey and Cash Bossen for winning the 2022-2023 CHL (Carolina Hockey League) Peewee A championship last weekend! These Pirates are working hard in and out of school!

The men's tennis team beat New Hanover last night 5-4. This is the tennis program's first win ever over New Hanover, which is regularly in contention for a state title. Congrats!

Congrats to Bryce Koehler for winning an individualist medal in yesterday's gold match. He shot even par 72 for the win!
Huge thanks to Onslow County for hosting our THS Public Safety 1 student over a 2 day period to accommodate all 5 classes. Students were able to tour the county jail and courthouse.

THS Public Safety classes 1 & 2 had the opportunity to work with NCIS yesterday. A very special thank you to agent Clergy and crew. The student's truly had a great time!
Congrats to the THS Math Club students! The students went to the UNCW High School Mathematics Competition and placed 2nd in our division as a school. THS had three students in the top ten for individual scores in division 1 as well. Great job!

Congrats to these students who auditioned for the all-state band. They are among the best musicians in the state. A total of nine students represented PCS. Eight are from THS and 1 from TMS 🎶🎵🎼

Eight (the most we have ever had eligible) THS band students traveled to Winston-Salem, NC to audition for the 2023 All-State Honor Band Clinic taking place at UNCG. Mason Crawford is first chair bass clarinet and Dylan Richartz is 3rd alternate. Congrats!!

Topsail High School students stayed busy over Spring Break. The THS Science Olympiad Team placed 4th in the region and qualified for the State Tournament that will be held April 21-22. Check out these smiling faces of the students on the team! Congrats!!
