Volunteer opportunity at the community garden.

CTE is excited to share summer opportunities. Please reach out to Ms. Fargo at siobhan_fargo@pender.k12.nc.us if you have any questions.

Topsail High School wants to rename two locations within the school to honor two people who have made the school what it is today. Preliminary plans are to rename the school’s gymnasium in honor of late teacher and coach, Jamie Rochelle, and the school’s media center in honor of benefactor Jan Lewis. Neither of the locations are currently dedicated to anyone. The process to rename locations with a school building calls for several steps, including two public hearings to be held for the community to weigh in on the plans.
The first meeting to rename the gymnasium will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:00 pm in the THS Gymnasium, and the second will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 6:00 pm in the gym.
Public Hearings for renaming the Media Center will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30pm in the Media Center, and Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30pm in the Media Center. All members of the community are invited to attend to hear the plans and share their opinion on the issue.

Graduating seniors, check out these CFCC events!

Next week is the big event! Come on out and support our students as they complete in building sheds.

Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

THS 2024 Prom is sold out.

On Friday the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble performed in our annual Music Performance Adjudication (or MPA) at Ashley High School. This is the performing arts equivalent to EOCs. Wind Ensemble - took grade 6 (the hardest literature available to a band) and received straight superiors from three judges on stage and a superior in sight reading. This is a process where the students have five minutes to study and perform a piece of music we have never seen before. Symphonic Band - took grade 4 and received straight superiors with an "A" in every caption from all three judges on stage and received an excellent in sight reading. This is the highest THS has scored and the hardest literature taken to MPA post-pandemic. Thank you all for your support of our hard working band students at THS!! Thank you Mr. Wentzek for all of your time and dedication to our program. We are so proud of our Pirates! Congratulations!

Jones 2 performed well this weekend!!! We came in 1st place! Robotics competition is a team sport. After all the qualifying rounds are played, the teams have an old school playground selection process. There were 28 teams at the event at UNC Asehville, so some teams don't get selected to compete in the championship tournament. Our robot "Jones 2" competed well, but is being modified to perform even better for the next tournament which is this coming weekend in Raleigh. Here are some pics from the event. Please join us in congratulating our Robotics team!! Shout out to Mr. Henry's for his support and dedication to the team. We are so proud of our Pirates!
