Attention Class of 2028!!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Topsail High School, we are excited to invite your student to join us for the Class of 2028 Freshman Orientation! The Freshman Orientation is an opportunity for each student to familiarize themselves with the campus, and to meet a few members of our faculty prior to their arrival on August 26. Over the years, the Freshman Orientation has helped our students settle into campus life here at THS, and lessen their anxiety about this major step in their growth and educational journey.
We have a busy itinerary prepared. Students will first be welcomed by Principal Dr. Michael Sasscer, and be given a program overview from orientation director Thomas Mattos. From there, students will hear a presentation from the THS Counseling Staff, before being assigned to small groups. Each of those groups will follow a schedule that will introduce them to teachers from a wide range of academic and elective programs available at THS. After lunch, students will be given a teacher-led tour of the campus, so they can learn to navigate the building layout and soothe any nervousness in advance of their first day. Students will be dismissed from the cafeteria promptly at 2:30PM.

Please note that registration is capped at a maximum of 150 students per day, on a first come / first served basis. If the date is unavailable on the form, it is because registration has met the cap for that day. This allows us to make sure each class is a manageable size and give each and every student the attention they deserve.

*While spending part of the day is possible, we strongly encourage you to allow your student to spend the entire day with us.

Clara Smith, a recent graduate of Topsail High, is making waves at the 2024 CTE Summer Conference in Winston-Salem this week! As this year's Postsecondary Collegiate VP of North Carolina State HOSA, Clara is taking on a pivotal role in introducing speakers and recruiting middle school teachers to start HOSA chapters at their schools.
We are incredibly proud of Clara's hard work and dedication. We can't wait to see all the amazing things she will achieve as she represents Topsail and the entire state of North Carolina!

The Greater Topsail Community Garden is hosting a second intern this summer, Brooke Gray. She is working with the garden and working with Kiwanis to ensure the future of the community garden. This summer you can find Rory working hard with Kiwanis and the Greater Topsail Community Garden. She is working on the gardens social media as well as managing the garden which provides our local food bank fresh produce. Rory has a passion for plant biology and sees herself working in a career field involving plants.
