Gooooooooood morning STE families! This week the kids are in control, and today we will be talking about our invaluable specials teachers! We have our P.E teacher Coach D, our music teacher Ms. Rodgers, our art teacher Ms. Edwards, and Mrs. Kennedy, our media specialist. They make sure we are well rounded and love the arts.

Fifth grade is taking over STE’s social media this week! We are getting ready to go to middle school, but we wouldn’t have made it without everyone’s help, and we want to show our appreciation! We hope you enjoy our posts this week!

Due to the forecasted rain on Saturday, May 2, the art show will not be displayed at the Spring Fest in Burgaw. Instead, the selected artwork will be exhibited in the STE Main Entrance starting this Thursday through the last week of school. We invite you to stop by and enjoy the students’ work.

We need your help with a special surprise for Teacher Appreciation Week, coming up May 4-8.

We are inviting students and parents/guardians to submit a short video message to celebrate the amazing teachers who make a difference every single day at South Topsail. Whether it is a simple thank-you, a favorite memory, or a kind word of encouragement, your message can help make a teacher’s week extra special.

Here is how to participate:
-Record a short video message for a teacher.
-Keep it to 30 seconds or less.
-Complete the submission form (https://forms.gle/caQpRwDBb4d146sc9) and upload your video.

A few quick tips:
-Record vertically on your phone
-Choose a quiet location
-Keep background music off
-Submit one video per teacher

Most importantly, let’s keep it a surprise until Teacher Appreciation Week.

Today, our students in Ms. Comperry's Class celebrated by planting long beans in yogurt cups generously donated by members of our amazing community. This hands-on activity gave us the opportunity to talk about the importance of reusing materials and how even small actions can make a big difference for our planet.

We love watching our students learn, grow, and care for the world around them—just like the plants they started today! 🌿
