The Pender County Board of Education will participate in a Special Joint Meeting with the Pender County Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 (today). The meeting will take place at 6:00 PM at 805 S. Walker Street, Burgaw, NC 28425. During the meeting, the boards will discuss school needs related to the FY 2026-2027 budget. Calling all RoboStingrays! We’re excited to share that this is the very first year of the Bogobots Summer Camp Program, and we’re kicking things off in a big way with our inaugural summer camp! Bogobots is all about giving students a hands-on, engaging experience in robotics where they can learn coding, engineering basics, building strategies, teamwork, and even marketing skills as part of a real robotics team environment.
This summer camp is targeted towards 4th-6th graders who are interested in robotics and STEM. They will work with modern, hands-on robotics kits similar to those used in competitive programs like FIRST LEGO League. These robots are built using LEGO components and programmable hubs, allowing students to design, build, and customize their own creations. This summer camp will take place from July 27–31. 8:30am -5:30pm

Ms. England is a consistent source of support for both students and staff. She works closely with her teams to provide resources, share strategies, and help others better support student communication. Whether she’s creating materials, leading trainings, or sharing helpful information, she is always willing to step in and help.
She is also known for her positive and friendly approach. She takes time to connect with others, greet people each day, and help create a welcoming environment in the school. Her presence makes a difference in the day-to-day experience for those around her.

Fifth grade teachers. What can we say? You helped us through our last year at elementary school and you made sure we were ready for middle school. Thank you for making school so much fun and always helping us when we needed it (even if we didn’t know we did).
Student Services Support Team! The name says it all. These people support us by working hard to make sure each student gets the support they need to be successful at STE. Thank you!
STE is so lucky to have the best PTO in Pender County. You do so much more than support our school! You run fundraisers to help build things our school needs and you host fun events. Even though you work behind the scenes, we know what you do for STE and we appreciate all of your hard work and dedication.
They may not be “teachers” but we sure learn a lot from our social worker and SRO! They keep us safe and help us be our best.

This week is teacher appreciation week, but our teachers couldn’t do their jobs without the amazing people in the front office. They are the ones who help us when we are sick or injured, make sure that report cards can be printed, and help direct us where we need to go! Thank you!
What’s a bus drivers least favorite music? TRAFFIC JAMS! Thank you to all of our bus drivers for getting us to and from school safely, even when the traffic is crazy! We appreciate you!
