It was so exciting to see the blanket of fresh snow this morning. I hope all of our families and students were able to make some memories playing in the snow today. Tomorrow is a virtual learning day. Please remind students to log in and complete work. This is how attendance will be completed. Additionally, if your student has questions about assignments please have them reach out directly to their teacher. Tomorrow is an A Day for Encore classes.

Congratulations to Hazel Martin for making the NCBA All-District Band for 2025! Hazel will represent SCMS in the state All-District Clinic at ECU next week and will perform at ECU with the other students from around the state.
Students in Mrs. Schmitz’s Reward Day group Friday were able to make snow in hopes they’ll have real snow soon!
Ms. Muffett's Reward Day group worked hard Friday to summon some snow! I guess we'll see tonight if their efforts were successful!

Remember, we will release all students at 11:30 a.m. today, January 21st. All afterschool activities for today have also been canceled. We are also scheduled for a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 22nd ( 9:30 a.m. start time). If there are any additional weather-related schedule changes, those will be sent out daily.

We continue to monitor the evolving weather forecast.
✅ Tuesday, January 21: Early release for students. All after-school activities, including PACES and athletics, are canceled.
✅ Wednesday, January 22: Schools will operate on a two-hour delay at minimum.
We will provide an update on Tuesday if further changes, including remote learning, are necessary.

Due to the forecasted winter weather, Pender County Schools will move to an early release schedule on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
