Mrs. Holt & Mrs. Allen's second grade classes had parents join in the fun to build gingerbread houses and trains last week. We love your creativity!

Mark your calendars! 📅 We'll have spirit days next week, the last week before break, Dec 16-20. 'Tis the season to be jolly!

Ms. O'Brien's 3rd grade class has been learning about constellations. They used an app that allowed them to look at constellations at different times of the day all around the world. Then they were able to create their own models. ⭐

Students in Mrs. Mizell's math class are sharing strategies for finding patterns in multiplication. Great work, mathematicians!

All eyes are on Mrs. Hanson as Mrs. Potts' kindergarten class begins their clay pinch pots in art class.

We're happy to share with you that Isabella W. from Ms. Holmes' 3rd grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of Dec 2-6. Isabella, your school is proud of you. 💙🐢💚

Let's support our awesome PTA in two ways this December. First, join them for a meeting on Monday 12/9 filled with Christmas crafts, hot cocoa, and SANTA, 5:30-7. Second, they're giving the gift of time to teachers this month, duty free lunch EVERY Wednesday, sign up here https://bit.ly/3ZCoYL0

Our 5th graders were invited by UNCW to attend the women's basketball game today. They were joined by other schools around Pender County as well as New Hanover, Brunswick & Onslow county schools. Everyone had a great time cheering on the team and even a few autographs from Sammy the Seahawk!

What a great school we have! 2nd graders are busy learning to paper plate weave with Mrs. Hanson in art class. Mrs. Oberle is spreading kindness with the 12 days of Kindness. Mrs, Silman is thankful for all the positive qualities in her Kindergarten students. And Mrs. Curry's class loves sharing book recommendations with each other. 💙💚

First grade students enjoyed a field trip to Fort Fisher Aquarium this week. Students are currently learning about the sea horse's features and writing stories about how the sea horse uses its eyes, pouch and tail to survive. They had the chance to see seahorses move and were able to see their features up close. AND they saw a baby Loggerhead sea turtle that was rescued locally. What a great day!

Our Sea Turtles LOVED meeting author/illustrator Jonathan Miller today and hearing all about Sammy the Wonder Dachshund. Additional order forms were sent home today - form and money due back Friday, 12/6, if you're interested in a personalized autographed copy. https://bit.ly/3OHt7aa

Ms. Rickard's science class was busy today making food webs and food chains. Great work, 5th graders!
