Our third grader Rams have been digging deep into the world of plants during their recent science unit, and the classroom has truly been blooming with excitement! From the very start, students have taken an active, hands-on approach to learning by planting their own seeds and caring for them each day. This experience has allowed them to explore the full life cycle of a plant, from tiny seed to growing sprout, right before their eyes.
As part of the unit, students have been identifying and learning the functions of the different parts of a plant, including roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. Through observation, discussion, and interactive activities, they are beginning to understand how each part plays an important role in helping a plant survive and thrive. It’s one thing to read about plants in a book, but it’s another to nurture one and watch it grow day by day!
Beyond the science content, this unit has sparked curiosity, responsibility, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Our third graders are asking thoughtful questions, making predictions, and developing a deeper appreciation for how living things grow and change.
We are so proud of their hard work, curiosity, and growing love for science.
