Pre-K Rams has been busy exploring the wonderful world of trees during their Creative Curriculum Tree Study! Over the last few weeks, our youngest learners have engaged in hands-on activities that helped them understand how trees grow, why they are important, and how they change with the seasons.
Students loved going on nature walks around our campus, where they collected leaves, compared their shapes and colors, and examined the different parts up close. Inside the classroom, they continued their exploration by learning the names and purposes of each tree part—from roots and trunks to branches, leaves, and fruits.
One of the highlights was tasting different kinds of apples and graphing their favorites. This simple activity helped students practice sorting, counting, and comparing while also discovering new flavors.
Throughout the study, Pre-K students participated in meaningful early writing experiences. They drew trees, leaves, and fruits and proudly labeled the parts, helping them connect new vocabulary with real-life objects.
This Tree Study has been a wonderful way for our Pre-K students to explore science, math, language, and nature all at once. Learning is fun when the world becomes your classroom!
