Our second grade Rams have been busy exploring math in meaningful and hands-on ways! This week, students worked with math counters to practice important skills such as estimating, organizing, counting, and representing collections of objects. They collaborated with classmates, sharing ideas and strategies, and discovering that teamwork makes math even more fun.
To tackle their collections, students bundled items into groups of 10s and 100s, strengthening their understanding of place value. As they worked, they recorded their thinking in their Eureka Math books, showing not only their answers but also the strategies they used along the way. This process helps students build strong number sense and confidence as mathematicians.
We are so proud of the creativity, persistence, and collaboration our Rams showed throughout this activity. Way to go, second-grade mathematicians—our Rams are charging full speed ahead in math!
