This week, our first graders have been busy exploring number partners for 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Using counters and other hands-on tools, students worked to find all the different ways these numbers can be combined. The excitement in the classroom was clear as children shared their discoveries with one another.
Through these activities, students are strengthening their addition skills and deepening their understanding of how numbers work together. By practicing with number partners, they are building an important foundation for problem-solving, mental math, and future learning in mathematics.
Most importantly, our young Rams are discovering that math can be fun! Their curiosity and enthusiasm shine as they tackle new challenges and celebrate their progress. We are so proud of the effort and confidence our first graders are showing as they grow into creative and capable mathematicians.
