Good Afternoon Rocky Point Families,

Thank you to all families for striving to have your child at school on time each day in January as we kicked off our second semester and middle of year assessments.  This upcoming week on Wednesday, February 7th, 3rd quarter progress reports will be coming home with students in all grade levels.  We will also be sending home our HomeConnect letters regarding your child’s performance on their middle of year mClass reading assessments, letters referencing Read to Achieve law for 2nd and 3rd grade students, individual student reports for reading, math and science check-ins for students in grades 3-5 and individual reading plan letters for certain students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding any of this information.

If you have a 4th or 5th grade student that received an invitation for after school tutoring on a pink sheet which is set to begin tomorrow, Monday, February 5th, please note that they may stay for tutoring as long as the permission form has been signed and returned, however transportation will not be available until next week.  Please reach out to the administrative staff at rpe_info@pender.k12.nc.us if you have any questions.

On Thursday, February 8th, we will be recognizing our 100th day of school.  We invite your child to dress up as if they are 100 years old or to wear something representative of the number 100.

This upcoming week we will begin our access testing for identified students in grades 1-5, which will continue throughout the month of February.  Please make sure your child gets to school on time each day with proper rest and an opportunity to eat breakfast.

In the month of February, Pender County Schools is highlighting the CTE programs within our school district.  Next week, we will participate in a CTE Spirit Week: February 12th - 16th in order to raise awareness around the importance of CTE.
