ROCKY POINT, NC - At Rocky Point Elementary, we're not just a school; we're a Unified Champion School—a community that champions inclusion, acceptance, and respect through the power of sports and education. πŸ†πŸ“š

Designated by the Special Olympics Organization, we strive to create an environment that goes beyond the classroom, fostering connections that break down barriers. Our commitment is clear: reduce bullying, promote healthy activities, challenge stereotypes, eliminate hurtful language, and ultimately, build a school climate that's not just welcoming but transformative.

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to take this commitment to the tennis court at Porters Neck Country Club! Thanks to Special Olympics North Carolina, 20 Exceptional Children's students and 20 General Education students from Rocky Point Elementary came together for a Unified Tennis Clinic. 🎾

Under the bright Carolina sun, laughter echoed as rackets swung, and bonds were formed. This wasn't just about perfect serves or powerful volleys; it was about teamwork, understanding, and breaking down any barriers that may stand in the way of unity. πŸ€πŸ’™

Through experiences like these, we're not just creating athletes; we're nurturing a generation that understands the power of acceptance. Our Unified Champions are not just playing a sport; they're embodying the spirit of inclusivity that transforms schools and communities.

As we continue our journey as a Unified Champion School, we're grateful for opportunities like these that remind us that every serve, every rally, and every shared moment on the court is a step towards a more inclusive and compassionate future.
