Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,

Thank you to all families who joined us for field day this past Wednesday.  We hope that you and your child enjoyed this day packed full of physical education activities.

A reminder that this Tuesday, May 9th, all students and families are invited to attend our transition night beginning at 5:30pm.  At this event, you will have the opportunity to meet with the current teachers in the grade level that your child will be advancing to next year and receive materials to inform you about the expectations for next year’s grade level, given that your child has had successful attendance and positive student growth demonstrated this school year.  This event will start in the gym with 2nd and 3rd grade performances, again beginning at 5:30pm.

Additionally, we will have our spring Book Fair this week, with the Book Fair open to families on Tuesday May 9 throughout the time of our transition night events.  We are still looking for volunteers to help with the book fair.  Please complete this google form if you are available and interested in volunteering at any point throughout the week this week.  An additional reminder that all school library books need to be returned immediately.

As I have shared in previous weekend messages, this week we will have our end of year mClass assessments for all grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Please do your best to ensure all students are at school and on time each day unless they have been told to stay home by a medical professional.

Mark your calendars for tentatively planned events for the remainder of the year:

  • Tuesday, May 16th - Math EOG for grades 3-5

  • Thursday, May 18th - Reading EOG for grades 3-5

  • Tuesday, May 23rd - Science EOG for grade 5 & RtA for 3rd grade

  • Thursday, May 25: 5th grade Moving up ceremony @ 8:00am

  • Friday, May 26: K-4 End of year awards ceremonies throughout the school day

For all families of students in 21st Century, please remember that it has ended and students will return to their normal mode of transportation, tomorrow Monday, May 8.  Our quote for the week:  “Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out” by Robert Collier.  We hope to see everyone Tuesday for our transition night and spring 2nd & 3rd grade performances!
