Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,

We have reached 100% return on our yellow bus ridership forms for the 23-24 school year.  Our sincerest appreciation for returning these forms as well as accepting our phone calls when we followed up with individual families as needed this past week.

This week, our Kindergarten, first and second grade students will take their end of year iReady Math assessments on Tuesday, April 18th.  Please ensure they arrive at school on time, have had a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast to set them up for success!

Also, this week we will be celebrating Military Spirit Week.  The days are as follows:

  • Monday, April 17th:  Purple Up Day - Wear purple to celebrate all the branches of the military working together!

  • Tuesday, April 18th:  Crazy Camo Day - Represent your military branch and wear your best camo!

  • Wednesday, April 19th:  R.E.D Wednesday Day - Let’s remember everyone deployed by wearing red!

  • Thursday, April 20th:  Career Day!  There are so many careers in the military.  Dress for your favorite career!

  • Friday, April 21st:  Pajama Day!  We sleep soundly at night thanks to those who protect our nation!

A reminder that this Thursday, April 20th, we have many things taking place at RPES and we would love to have you & your child join us for a fun, interactive evening of learning!  Quarter 4 progress reports will be coming home with all students.  Students in grades 3-5 will also be coming home with their Individual Student Reports from their final NC Check-ins that they recently completed.  All families in grades 3-5 will have the opportunity to come talk with your child’s teacher from 5:00 - 5:30pm.  Please bring the copy with you if you plan to take advantage of this opportunity.

Beginning at 5:30pm through 7:30pm, our 4th and 5th grade students will present a short performance, which will lead us into our Math and Science Night events and activities.  We have 18 different learning activities for you to participate in with your child and led by our staff.  Dinner will be provided free for all families after the completion of at least 5 activities!

Mark your calendars for tentatively planned events for the remainder of the year:

  • Thursday, April 20th:  All families of students in all grade levels come join us at 5:30!

  • Friday, April 21st:  Special Olympics and All-County Chorus for select students
