Mother's Day

Good Evening Penderlea Families.  

  • We would like to say Happy Mother’s Day and we hope that you have enjoyed your weekend. 

  • Thank you PTO for all the “PUN”derful gifts you gave our staff last week!  We are so grateful for your support.  Thank you for making Teacher Appreciation week special!

  • 21st Century  After School care has now ended for this school year.  If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs, Blandin.  

  • PACES last day will be May 19th.  Please make arrangements to pick students up from school at 2:50 pm on the last day, May 20th as PACES will end for this school year on May 19th.  

  • Students who ride Bus 253 will ride another Penderlea bus Monday afternoon.  All buses, with the exception of Bus 217, could experience some delays.  We thank you for your patience. 

  • Our End of Grade Testing will begin on Tuesday, May 10th.  Students will be taking their Math EOG test.  On Thursday, May 12th, students will be taking their English/Language Arts EOG.  It is important that students get a good night sleep, eat breakfast, and arrive at school on time.  We want to wish our students good luck and do your best on the test!  Our 5th and 8th grade students will take their Science EOG test on Tuesday, May 17th.  

  • Thank you to our parents who will be proctoring during our EOG tests!  We greatly appreciate your support in ensuring a great testing environment for our students.  

  • Our Volleyball team is seeded #3 in the middle school division.  They will have a volleyball game on Tuesday, May 10th against Surf City.  This game will be played at Heidi Trask High School.  They will play after the first game against Cape Fear and Topsail.  The first game will begin at 4:00 pm and Penderlea will play immediately after.  Please come out and support our volleyball team. 

  • Our Athletic Booster Club will be hosting an EOY Athletic Banquet for our athletes.  It will be May 16th at 6:00 in the school cafeteria.  Athletes and Coaches eat free.  Guests will be $6.00 per person.  Please RSVP by May 9th.  If you have any questions please reach out to the booster club.     

  • Please remember that the last day of school, May 20th, is a full school day (7:20-2:50).  

  • At the May meeting, the Board of Education approved the new Calendar for the 2022-2023 school year.  Please find the updated calendar below.

  • If you have not completed the bus ridership form, please do so ASAP.  Even if your student(s) do not ride the bus, we need ALL parents and guardians to CLICK HERE to take the Bus Ridership Survey for the 2022-2023 school year.   This information will help the Transportation Department over the summer as they develop routes for the next school year. 

  • Save the date:  Our Kindergarten moving up ceremony has been scheduled for May 18th at 9:00 am and our 8th grade moving up ceremony has been scheduled for May 19th at 9:00 am.  Letters were sent home last week with details.  Please sign and return them by their due date.

May 10th:  Volleyball game at HTHS.  The girls will play immediately after the first game.  

May 18th:  Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony. 9:00 am

May 19th:  8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony.  9:00 am

May 20th:  Last Day of School (This is a full day)
