Fifth grade students recently brought literature to life by acting out Thunder Rolling in the Mountain during ELA class. The dramatic performance allowed students to explore historical perspectives and develop their reading comprehension through creative expression.
In a powerful display of Leadership in Action, one student stepped up to the keyboard and confidently announced, "I got this," before taking charge of the week's guidance lesson. The student-led session focused on anti-bullying strategies, demonstrating how young leaders can make a positive impact in their school community.
Meanwhile, math class has students tackling advanced multiplication and division concepts. They're mastering the standard algorithm for 4-digit by 3-digit multiplication problems while exploring multiple division strategies—including long division, the area model, the Big 7 method, and tape diagrams—to solve 2-digit by 3-digit and 3-digit by 4-digit division problems. This multi-strategy approach helps students build flexibility and deeper understanding of mathematical operations.
