7th Grade Science Superstars 🌍☁️
Our 7th graders have been teaming up to explore the layers of Earth's atmosphere, and let us tell you—they're thinking like REAL scientists! From the troposphere where we live and breathe, all the way up to the exosphere at the edge of space, students have been collaborating, creating, and discovering what makes each atmospheric layer unique and important. The teamwork and curiosity we've seen has been absolutely out of this world! 🚀
7th Grade ELA: Building Community & Belonging 💭🤝
In ELA, our 7th graders worked with partners to explore the powerful meanings of "inclusive" and "exclusive" as part of our Unit 1 focus on Community & Belonging. Students are building their understanding of these key concepts to prepare for today's Related Media Exploration, where they'll examine how communities can make people feel included or excluded. These conversations matter SO much, and we're incredibly proud of the thoughtful discussions happening in our classrooms! 💙
8th Grade Chemistry Champions ⚛️🧪
Meanwhile, our 8th graders are diving deep into the fascinating world of chemistry! They've been investigating how to calculate subatomic particles (hello, protons, neutrons, and electrons!) and exploring the chemical reactions that power our everyday lives. From the food we eat to the devices we use, chemistry is everywhere—and our students are uncovering its secrets! 🔥
It's been TWO WEEKS of hands-on learning, critical thinking, and scientific discovery that would make any scientist proud! 💡
And That's Not All... 🎭✨
This week, our students are time-traveling back to the Renaissance! They're starting an exciting new project where they'll build a resume for a Renaissance artist. Imagine creating a LinkedIn profile for Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo! 🖼️ Students will apply their research skills while learning to craft a basic resume—a real-world skill that will serve them well beyond the classroom. It's the perfect blend of history, creativity, and career readiness!
