An Incredible Start to the School Year
What an incredible start it has been at Penderlea! Our students have returned with enthusiasm, our staff has created welcoming and engaging classrooms, and our families have been wonderful partners in helping us begin the year strong. It's been exciting to see students already building relationships, establishing routines, and embracing our first year as a Leader in Me School. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this a year of learning, leadership, and growth. We truly believe Penderlea is the Place to Be!
Nurse Communication Preference Survey
At Penderlea, we value strong communication between home and school. To help our school nurse better meet your family's expectations, we are asking all families to complete a brief survey regarding communication about visits to the nurse's office.
This short survey will help us understand whether you would like to be contacted for every visit your child makes to the nurse or only for more urgent health concerns. As we welcome many new students and families this year, your feedback will help us provide the level of communication that works best for you.

Kindergarten Drop-Off Update
Our Kindergarten students have had a wonderful start to the school year! We are so proud of how quickly they are learning routines, building confidence, and becoming part of our Penderlea family.
Beginning tomorrow, we will transition to our regular morning arrival procedures. All students, including Kindergarten, should be dropped off at the front entrance of the school. Staff members will be available to welcome students and help them get to their classrooms safely.
This transition is an important step in fostering independence and confidence as our youngest Hornets continue to grow as learners and leaders.
Fall Picture Day – August 26
Mark your calendars! Fall Picture Day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Strawbridge Studios will be on campus to photograph all students. Be on the lookout for ordering information and reminders from the school. We encourage families to review the picture day flyer for ordering details, and information about when to expect your child's picture package.
July Cafeteria Menu & À La Carte Pricing
The July Cafeteria Menu is now available! We encourage families to review the menu to see the breakfast and lunch options that will be offered throughout the month.
In addition to the monthly menu, we have also included this year's À La Carte Menu and Pricing Guide. Families can review the items available for individual purchase, along with their prices, to help students plan ahead.
Athletic Parent Meeting
Parents and guardians of students participating in athletics this school year are invited to attend our Beginning of the Year Athletic Parent Meeting on Thursday, August 6, at 6:00 PM.
During this meeting, families will meet our coaching staff, receive important information about the upcoming athletic seasons, and learn about expectations and procedures for student-athletes. This meeting is an important opportunity to ensure everyone is prepared for a successful year of Hornet Athletics.
We look forward to seeing all of our athletes and their families on Thursday, August 6, at 6:00 PM. Go Hornets!
