As we wrap up the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. It has truly been a great year at Penderlea, filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of pride. Whether it was cheering on our students at events, helping with homework, or simply making sure they showed up ready to learn each day—your involvement made a difference.

We are so proud of all our Hornets and the progress they've made this year. Thank you for being a part of our school community and for helping make Penderlea a special place for students to grow and thrive.

Nurse Bain Updates

Parents, if your child has medication at school please be sure to come in and sign that out by June 2nd. An adult must sign out all medication, we are not able to send this home with students. After June 2nd all meds left at the school will have to be disposed of. Please contact Nurse Bain with any questions.

Attention parents of rising 7th graders: Students entering 7th grade are required to have the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccine. Please check your child's shot record to make sure they have received this and if not get this done over summer break. You will need to turn in proof of immunization on the first day of school in July. Please call nurse Bain with any questions.

Fire Drill and Lockdown Drill Tomorrow

We would like to inform you that a scheduled fire drill and lock-down drill has been planned for our school. This is a standard procedure that we undertake regularly to ensure the safety of our students and staff in case of an emergency situation.

The drill is scheduled for Monday June 2nd at 8:30 AM for the fire drill and 9:00 AM for the lock-down drill, each drill will take approximately 5-15 minutes to complete.

We understand that this type of drill may be concerning to some students, but we assure you that our school takes the safety of our students and staff very seriously, and this drill will help us to be better prepared in case of an actual emergency.

Parents will be notified upon the completion of the drill.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the lock-down drill, please feel free to contact the school.

Yearbook Update

Yearbooks will be available for purchase in the front office for $40.

We also have a limited number of misprinted yearbooks available for $30 (cash only).

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out via email at pls_info@pender.k12.nc.us or call the school at 910-285-2761.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Together we will continue to make Penderlea the Place to Be!
