Sixth Grade

Last week, sixth graders worked hard to build their fluency skills by reading together in small groups! It was exciting to hear everyone supporting each other and growing stronger as readers.

In math, students are studying dot plots and histograms. To make learning more hands-on, they conducted a short survey asking 6th graders about their favorite types of food. The categories were American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Greek — listed from left to right. Although the student-created graphs weren’t as neat as the ones drawn on paper, they loved becoming part of the data collection and learning process. Can you guess which food was the favorite among sixth graders?

Meanwhile, in Mr. Kessler’s social studies class, students wrapped up their unit on Ancient Rome with a lively performance of Beware the Ides. The play told the dramatic story of Julius Caesar’s betrayal, bringing history to life with bold speeches, creative costumes, and a few fun middle-school twists.

Throughout the unit, students explored Rome’s leaders, culture, and conflicts. Their hard work paid off with an unforgettable performance that showed off not only their historical knowledge but also their acting talents. Amazing job, sixth graders!
