Pender High School

A big change could be coming to Pender High next year. The idea of a food sciences class has been bounced around by many members of staff and the Board of Education- meaning that Pender High schoolers could learn their way around foods and cooking! Other high schools in the county such as Trask and Topsail have been teaching and ironing out the creases of the program, but like all changes, this wouldn't be a smooth transition. As a school, we would have to be more strategic about our budgeting and spacing around the building, but in return we would be able to provide more people opportunities to learn different topics. While all of this is still up in the air, we are hopeful for next year's food safety class!
