Every Friday, students in the Health Science program step into their future careers by wearing scrubs to school. Health Science teacher, Ms. New encourages this practice to give students a sense of professionalism and help them imagine what it will be like working in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
The initiative not only helps Health Science students prepare for their future, but it also invites curiosity from classmates. Other students are encouraged to ask, “Why are you wearing scrubs?” These conversations open the door for Health Science students to share about the skills they are practicing—such as taking vital signs, learning medical terminology, and exploring different careers in the healthcare field.
Scrub Fridays are more than just a dress code—they are a symbol of commitment, teamwork, and the exciting opportunities ahead for students interested in healthcare.
