The first week of school was filled with teaching and learning throughout the building! Students learned how to SWIM to success and did lots of activities to build a positive classroom community. In addition to all of that, they discovered our sensory walk, practiced echo reading, followed a model of how to write an overall main statement, reviewed punctuation rules, read poetry in pairs and solved multiplication with a tape diagram! 📚🍟 Fries for School Supplies is Back! 🍟📚 We are excited to announce that for the second year in a row, our local McDonald’s owner-operators are hosting the Fries for School Supplies fundraiser in our school district! Last year, over $110,000 was raised for our area schools, and we’re aiming to do even more this year! 🎉 From August 26th to 30th, McDonald’s will donate 10% of sales from all a la carte Fries to help support our schools. It’s a delicious way to contribute to our community! 🙌

✂️ Back-to-School Haircuts! ✂️ Cape Fear Community College is offering free haircuts this Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Barber School located at 108 Walnut St. No appointments needed—just walk in! All haircuts will be supervised by a licensed instructor and are first-come, first-served. Remember, students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Get ready for the new school year with a fresh look!
