Our 4th and 5th graders had an incredible hands-on learning experience with Ms. Kimberly from Marine CSI! 🐢🌊
Students explored how scientists identify different species by using dichotomous keys and field guides, just like real marine biologists. Through these activities, they learned to observe key characteristics, such as shell shape, size, and patterns, to identify different types of sea turtles accurately.
Who knew science could feel like solving a mystery? 🔍🐢 #MarineCSI #FutureScientists #STEMlearning #SeaTurtles #onepender

Happy April Birthday to these Dynamic Dolphins!

Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students had an amazing learning experience with Ms. Kimberly from Marine CSI! 🌊
They dove into the fascinating world of jellyfish, learning all about these incredible ocean creatures!
And here’s a fun fact they loved…
Did you know a group of jellyfish is called??
A smack?! 😂
We are so thankful for opportunities like this that bring science to life for our students! 🐙💙

Check out what our cafeteria has planned for the Dolphins this week!

Our students have had wonderful guidance lessons with our amazing counselor, Mrs. Garrison! During SWIM time, they explored the importance of kindness and love, learning how even small acts can make a big difference in our school community.
We are so proud of our students for practicing empathy, showing compassion, and helping make NTE a place where everyone feels valued and cared for.

💙TEACHER TUESDAY📘
Ms. Jennifer Simmons is an EC teacher at North Topsail Elementary. One family shared how much of a difference she has made for their child both academically and personally. They said Ms. Simmons creates a space where their son can learn, grow, and also feel comfortable being himself.
Parents appreciate that she balances high expectations with kindness and patience. She encourages students to work through areas that are difficult, but she also notices their strengths outside of academics and takes time to build confidence in those areas too. Families say their child has shown growth in both academics and behavior because of the support and encouragement she provides.
What stands out most about Ms. Simmons is her genuine nature and the way she partners with families. A parent shared that during their child’s IEP meeting, Ms. Simmons spoke about their son in a way that really meant a lot to them. She shared personal strengths she had noticed, showing that she takes time to know students as individuals—not just as learners in the classroom.
Thank you, Ms. Simmons, for the care you show your students and for working closely with families at North Topsail Elementary. 💛
