📚 The countdown is on—just 38 days until students on our traditional calendar return to school on Monday, August 24!
As we prepare for the 2026–27 school year, families are asked to complete their student’s Beginning of Year Information Update. This update is not required for newly enrolled students.

Cameron is a 2nd grader at North Topsail Elementary, recognized for leadership, inclusion, and awareness.
Cameron recently stood out for how he handled a situation with classmates. After noticing a peer being bullied, he encouraged other students to look out for that classmate. He also took time to talk privately with both students involved and helped guide a conversation where the situation was addressed and resolved.
In general, Cameron looks out for others throughout the school day. He includes classmates, checks on students who seem upset, and helps when someone needs it. Staff and peers see him as someone who treats others with respect and tries to do the right thing.
Outside of school, Cameron enjoys baseball ⚾, basketball 🏀, soccer ⚽, and spending time playing with friends. His favorite foods are cheeseburgers 🍔 and pizza 🍕, and his favorite colors are black and red 🖤❤️.
One interesting fact—Cameron is ambidextrous, meaning he can use both his arms and legs equally well.
❤️ Thank you, Cameron, for the example you set at North Topsail Elementary.

What stands out most is her patience and the way she treats students. She takes time to explain things clearly when students are having trouble and makes sure they understand before moving on.
In the nomination, the student shared that Ms. Wells has always been kind and helpful during lessons. When something is confusing, she works through it with them so they can feel more confident.
Thank you, Ms. Wells, for the care and support you provide to your students at North Topsail Elementary. 💛✅

This week, we’re celebrating the heart, dedication, patience, creativity, and love our teachers pour into our students every single day. 🍎📚
Students and families from across our district sent in video messages to help us say one big, heartfelt THANK YOU. To make sure every school community can be celebrated together, we’ve combined the messages into one special video per school, and we’ll be sharing them throughout the week. 🎥🏫
These videos are filled with smiles, gratitude, and reminders of the incredible impact teachers make far beyond the classroom. 💛
To every teacher: thank you for showing up, lifting up, encouraging, inspiring, and believing in our students. You are appreciated more than words can say. 🌟

Families, please be aware that afternoon bus routes may be delayed today due to several non-school related traffic accidents in the Highway 17 area. Some cleanup efforts are still ongoing, which may impact transportation this afternoon.
Our transportation team is monitoring the situation and will work to get students home safely and as efficiently as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Happy National Principal's Day, Mrs. Robertson!

Students have loved open checkout time, and it’s been so sweet to watch our school community in action. Siblings are helping each other pick out just-right books, and our 5th graders have been amazing mentors, guiding their Kindergarten friends as they explore the shelves.
There’s nothing better than seeing students connect over a love of reading 📚✨
