Our NTE bottlecap mural is complete! Many thanks to our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Denny, and her committee for leading this project, as well as the PCS Maintenance Department for hanging it. This community project would not be possible without the bottlecap donations from our families, we are also thankful to Lowe's Hardware in Surf City for donating the screws as well as the "Dad's that Drill." Every staff member and student had a role in completing this work of art from start to finish and we are so proud of the end result!

Congratulations to Mrs. Kinlaw on receiving a $2,000 grant from Brights Ideas and JOEMC. She and Mrs. Denny attended the awards banquet on Thursday evening. This money will go towards purchasing STEM materials for a family STEM night in the spring. #experiencetheexcellence

Congratulations to fourth grader, Kollyns Pearson! She designed a picture that was selected for the PCS Holiday Cards. Kollyns and our art teacher, Mrs. Barker were recognized at Tuesday's PCS Board of Education meeting. Great job Kollyns!

Mrs. Soles's fifth grade students recently completed a Binary Code Ornament in correlation with the Hour of Code Week. Before creating their ornaments, they explored how the Binary Code system of the alphabet and simple numbers work in the digital world. Students practiced coding on paper using their names and then creating sentences for their partner to decipher. To close out the week, students strung colored beads to create a wreath ornament that mimics the Binary Code pattern of their initials.
The dolphins welcomed Ms Dawanna and Mr Kaleel from Living Rhythms today. Our students learned about drumming, dancing and singing from West Africa! This opportunity was sponsored by a Grassroots grant.
