Our Dolphins are learning that every letter has a special job! 🐬💙
We are so proud of these beginning readers as they learn their letters, make their sounds, and grow their reading skills one sound at a time!
Our 1st graders are exploring the day and night sky! 🔭✨They are observing the differences between the day and night sky.
Our little scientists are asking questions, making observations, and discovering that there is always something new to explore!
Our 4th graders are diving into Wit & Wisdom Module 1, Lessons 7–17, using the informational text The Circulatory Story to explore the literal and figurative meanings of a great heart! 🫀✨
As they learn about how the heart works to keep our bodies going, they’re also discovering how having a “great heart” can describe someone who is caring, courageous, and kind. 💙

❤️🇺🇸 REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11 🇺🇸❤️
Today at NTE, we paused together at 8:46 AM for a moment of silence to remember the lives lost and the families and communities forever changed by September 11, 2001.
📚 In the library this week, our Dolphins have been learning about the heroes of that day—the brave first responders, helpers, and everyday people who showed incredible courage and compassion. 🐾 We also learned about some very special 4-legged heroes, the search-and-rescue dogs who worked alongside their human partners to help others in need.
Today, we remember.
Today, we honor.
Today, we are grateful for the heroes who showed us what courage, kindness, and compassion look like. ❤️

On September 11, 2001, thousands of lives were lost, families were forever changed, and first responders answered an unimaginable call.
Today, Pender County Schools pauses to remember those who died, honor those who served and sacrificed in the years that followed, and recognize the families and communities who continue to carry the impact of that day.
For our students, September 11 is history. It is our responsibility to help them understand why we remember.

At 8:46 AM, we will observe a moment of silence in honor of those whose lives were forever changed that day.

The Sept. 22 deadline is quickly approaching for required health forms and immunizations.
📌 Incoming Kindergarten students and students who enrolled from out of state must provide their school nurse with:
• A completed NC Health Assessment Form from within the past calendar year
• A copy of their updated immunization record
💉 All 7th and 12th grade students also have required immunizations that must be completed by Sept. 22.

Please contact your school nurse with any questions or to make sure your student’s records are complete.
⚠️ The Sept. 22 deadline is established by North Carolina state law, and the school district cannot make exceptions.

Our 2nd graders are working hard in PE to build their hand-eye coordination skills! 👀🤲 They’re practicing the skills they’ll need to be successful when playing favorites like 4-Square, Spikeball, and Round Ball!
